Kenoe, M.D Grant Proposal Your nemo of December 28tn about renal disease, in relation to a proposal for a rant, finds cue unable to enlighten you with respect to a means of etting at tne nature of renal involvement in lead poisoning in tne child. .May I say "offhand" that I doubt that the mecnanisms in tne child (particularly pathologic mechanisms) are reproducible in experimental animals of the usuail laboratory type. You will, I believe, find it necessary to make no assumptions concerning cue nature of the renal damage due to lead la the human child or adult. There has been too much confusion, I believe, as to the nature of tne uamage inflicted by lead, on the kidney of the numan auult, and, moreover, I think it liaely that the damage in the cnild is different from that in the adult in most instances. I am indeed interested, but ignorant.
