MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE o f t h e GLimnr c o mp an y Minutes of meeting of the Executive Committee of The Glldden Company held at the office of the Company, 1396 Union Trust Building, Cleveland, Ohio, on October 36,1936, at two o^lock P*M. The meeting was called to order and presided over by Mr* Adrian 0* Joyce, President, end Mr* R, H. Horeburgh recorded the minutes* Present} Adrian D. Joyce R* W, Levenhagen W. J, O'Brien R* H. Horeburgh The meeting was held for the purpose of considering hourly rates of our various factories* It was decided that at Reading, Pennsylvania an increase of at least four cents per hour would be given to the employees, and that a conference would be held with Mr* P* B, Fehl, Regional Director, and Ur* Gurdon Hamilton, General Paint Superintendent, to discuss the best method of handling changes in rates, and to consider points such as New Orleans, Minneapolis end St* Louis* In discussing the matter the Committee has in mind the increased cost of living and the desire of the Company to keep our rates fully up to the rates paid by the Industries with which we are connected* Consideration sill be given to the monthly men, including Superintendents, etc*, in the regular way as in the past* It was decided in connection with all Plants and Branches, that announcement will shortly be made confirming the the plan of giving a week's vacation with pay to hourly employees who had been in the employ of the company for a minimum of six months* GILD007328
