It was contained in a 40 oz plastic bottle that was labelled with the following information:"JIS$4-3, TC-203Cr". rC-203CF. (an orange-brown liquid) was supplied by 31 Company. 935 Bush Avenue, St. Paul, Hinnesota. Prior to use the test material was stored in the dark at room tea"rature. A reserve mople (approximately1.0 gran) will be retained at ZnviroSysteasfor a minis= of 10 years. DILUTION VKTU: Water used for acclimationof test arganisas and for all toxicity testing was collected .from wells at ZaviraSystem in Hampton, Now Hampshire. After 48 hours of exposure there was 20% survival at 1,000mg/L. and 80% survival or greater at 1.0 mg/L, 10 ag/L. and 100 mg/L. Surviving daphaids expmed to 100 mg/L at 49 hours and 1,000 ag/L at 24 to 48 hours were imabilized. The definitivetoxicity test was performedduring June 12 to 14, 1991. The test was conducted at a target temperatureof 20 1 IOC with five concentrationsof test substance and a dilutionwatercontrol. 1 1,000 mg/L stock solution was formulated without the use of a solvent. Nominal concentrationsof the test materialwere: 0 mg/L (control),150 mg/L, 250 mg/L, 400 ag/L. 600 mg/L, and 1,000 ag/L. Twenty daphnids were randomly and equally distributed among four replicates of each treatment. The test was performed in 250 al glass beakers that contained 200 al of test solution (water depth was approximately 6 ca). Test vessels were randomlyarrangedin an incubator during the 48 hour test (a random numbers tablewas used to select the location of each vessel). A 16 hour light and 8 hour dark pbotoperiod was automatically maintained with cool-whit*fluorescent lights that provideda light intensityof 20 ugs-'s-2.Aeration was not required to maintain dissolvedoxygenconcentrationasbove acceptablelevels.
