August, 1951 OCT 2 9 Mi Revised General Safe Practices Pamphlet Set The Safe Practices Pamphlets comprising the revised general set have been selected for their continued use as supplements to the second edition of the Accident Prevention Manual for Industrial Operations. Certain of these pamphlets, like No. 1, Ladders, No. 12, Scaffolds, No. 52, Static Elec* tricity, and No. 91, Spray Coating, contain greater detail than the sections covering similar material in the Manual. Others deal with subjects not covered in he Manual sections: No. 78, Mathematical Tables and Data, No. 81, Industrial Accident Prevention Signs, and No. Chem. 7, Indus- trial Waste Disposal are illustrative of this group. x A third group consists of pamphlets which are more limited in scope than the Manual sections in which their content will be found. Thus they offer a more compact package of information for the user. This is true of No. 26, Wire Rope, No. 95, Compressed Gases, and No. 104, Dust Explosions and others. To the revised Safe Practices Pamphlet set have been added seven of the titles formerly published as Health Practices Pamphlets, as well as four subjects previously listed as Special Industries Pamphlets. These four subjects are Chemical Pipe Lines and Tanks, Industrial Waste Disposal, Excavation Work and Coordinating Safety. Titles of Chapters of the Accident Prevention Manual for Industrial Operations are as follows: 1. Permanent Structure and Plant Layout 2. Maintenance and Maintenance Crews 3.
