Dear Bob,
I ask that you consider the following remarks as not being oastful. My book "Occupational Medicine and Indust rial Hy giene" has been out of print for over two years* When it was completed I vowed I would not attempt another, Yet the re is a constant demand that I do so from teachers and physicians both in and out of occupational medicine, The req uests state that although there are other books they lack su fficient clinical data.
At the last rendevous of the Ramazzinians it was suggest ed that Some of the labor of such a book could be relieve d by making it one in which much of the material in my book could stay as it is but be brought up to date by utilizi ng a number of contributors. I realize such a system has its "pitfalls" but it maybe worth a trail, I would 1ike your frank - very frank opinion.
Sincerely, R. T. Johnstone, M.D.
