Reg, 6434) . The rule amends 29 C.F.R. S 1904 by adding Section 1904.17, which requires employers to provide site specific occupational Injury and illness data when surveyed by OSHA. Such surveys will be randomly conducted by OSKA on an annual basis. The rule takes effect on March 13, 1997; however, compliance with the rule's requirements is not required until OSHA announces in the Federal Register that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is satisfied that the information collection requirements comply with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. Under Section 1904.17, an employer who receives OSHA's Annual Survey Form will be required to report (l) the number of workers it employs; (2) the numbers of hours its employees work during e designated period of time; and (3) any other information contained in records that 29 C.F.R. 5 1904 requires an employer to maintain. Employers are required to report to OSHA or its designee by mail withixi thirty calendar days, unless the OSHA form specifies a time that is longer. The contract is.being performed by Battelle Memorial Institute along with southwest Research institute and Iowa State University. The contract is a research and development contract to develop electromagnetic in-line inspection technologies to detect and characteriae mechanical damage and stress corrosion cracking. The meeting will be held May 5, 1997 in Washington D.C. from 12:30-4:30.
