It is our objective to convert small residual users of Aroclor 1254 in capacitors to Aroclor 1016 by year end.
The major factors involved in the change will bet a) higher dielectric constant b) lower viscosity c) because of a) and b) a greater sensitivity to contami nation in process which will require greater attention to cleanliness in customers' operation with 1016.
Capacitors are smaller than transformers and disposal of equipment at the end of its useful service life is less readily controlled. This is why capacitor manufacturers have largely switched to Aroclor 1016 with a lower level of higher boiling homologues so that it biodegrades more readily.
Jim Bryant will be available to give advice to salesmen about specific technical questions raised by the accounts involved.
Please report monthly on progress towards this objective. Thank you.
