Furthar, th is committee w ithin the F ric tio n M aterials Standards I n s titu te , in e ., eouid present th brak lining (and d u tc h facing) m anufacturers' views to both th Asbestos Infortaation Association of Nfcrth America and to the various regulatory agencies. Another objective of th is Committee would be to kep th members of th In stitu te inform as to the sta tu s of reg u latio n s concerning asbestos both in-plant and in th gnr environment, and to advis on the methods of measuring these asbestos con cen trate n the environment. P art of th e project eludes amissions from clutch faeings. This is part of a study of non-engine v. amissions - prim arily rubber from tir e s and p a rtie u la te s (prim arily asbestos) brake linings. Bendix is working with Or. Somers of the E.P.A. in Arm Arbor.
