Dear Mr. Moreno:
In response to your telephone rail of June ti regarding an opinion on the safety of a new insulating material of the following composition:
Light cement
38.52
Perlite
9.02
"Vormicu li to , expanded 26.0%
"ball clay
22.4%
Plaster of Paris
1.5%
Vinsol resin-less than 1.0%
Diatomaceous earth
2.5%
a review of the health hazards of the various components would indicate that provided the quartz content of any of the components does not exceed 3% (e.g. Perlite), an exposure below 10 mg/m^ of respirable dust would appear permissible.
Sincerely yours,
