Even after having read about as much on lead in the past eight or ten years as almost anyone in the world, I am of course only a journeyman laborer in the field and don't purport to be able to understand all the scientific subtleties of the subject. Therefore, I can well understand why you could be quite upset with the job Gross has done and yet I still feel that you have not necessarily made a mistake in allowing this first step to proceed. I still think it is of some help for this compilation job to have been accomplished and now out of the way. Above all, I am delighted with the news that you are hard at work on your own book and that you feel you are making significant progress.
