|... we went out on the wires, reporting that one clean energy group is criticizing a pending Energy Department electricity grid study as too focused on supporting jbaseload coal and nuclear plants, with the group instead calling for a focus on technologies to make the grid more "flexible" and able to handle more clean power.
Out West, the California Air Resources Board is further delaying a decision on its proposed greenhouse gas regulatory "scoping plan" to achieve the state's 2030 GHG target, in response to a request from nearly two dozen lawmakers who are still deliberating over legislation to extend the state's cap-and-trade program beyond 2020. |j||
Speaking of California, it teamed up with New York and nine other states to file a lawsuit over DOE's failure to publish final energy efficiency standards for five productsifjl - rules that were finalized shortly before the Trump administration took office.
And in other legal news, our news roundup said that EPA plans to argue in its pending Clean Power Plan rollback proposal that the Obama-era GHG rule illegally regulated "outside the fence" of power plants.
