May 23, 1957 ^'U>7 Mr. L. s, Roberta, Superintendent Kentucky J&drocarbon Corporation Maytown, Floyd County, Kontuoky Dear Mr. Roberta Mr, Singleton has referred ! we-yoyr lru$ilry concerning the possible he sard of ualnyTydnul AO, in a conpreaaor which will furnish oocvresaed air among other things, an airmeak, Z can aaaure you that in tqy opinion there la no hacard from the use of Pydraul in this application. Pydraul la a lieuid that ha* a vary low vapor pressure end Z feel that should there be any leak it will condense rapidly and not fora a vapor or mist which oould be blown into an individual*# air* mask. Z would imagine alto that a further safeguard would exist in the traps that probably are inatailed In conjunction with air going to an air-cask. The acute oral toxicity la low, amount of 30 grama per kilo gram oaualng no affeeta to rata. Rata survived a 6-hour axpoaura to an ataoephsra saturated with the vapora of the fluid. Z feel quite sure these values oould not be duplicated in the oaee of hydrocarbon fluids. Z am sure, therefore, that there la no hasard involved in the operation which you deaorlbed.
