You suggested that I could send you a copy of the preliminary notification form to ensure that I have filled it our correctly. The contractor, D&H Griffin of Texas assures me that it is common practice for a steel mill to process intact asbestos gaskets. A steel mill has not been selected by D&H Griffin for recycling of the steel removed at the site. When a selection has been made, D&H will have the mill sign a letter accepting the steel with asbestos gaskets which would,then, be smelted at the mill site. As a contingency measure, I have put down ASARCO as the abatement contractor. We have certified abatement workers and supervisors should the gaskets need to be removed on site. I appreciate your help in this matter. Please call me on any discrepancies on the notification form. I would also appreciate a call should the form be filled out correctly so that I can mail it to meet the 10 day notification deadline. Start date for the project is July 8th, 1997.
