The program began in 1976 and has undergone a number of changes from the original proposal. The final report, therefore, will have the following format: I. INTRODUCTION: A very short summary of the initial proposal, changes, modi fications and additions made to the original proposal will be summarized. II. BACKGROUND: In short paragraph form, the background for each of the original seven and final additional two technical research proposals shall be described. III. RESEARCH PROGRAMS AND RESULTS: This will be the main body of the final report. It will be divided into nine parts, each related to one of the nine technical proposals. Each research proposal's final report will be presented in the following format: A. Objectives B. Background C. Research study, protocol, and performance D. Results E. Significance or relevance to chemical industry F. Reference to publications IV. SUMMARY: A concise summary of the entire program and its research results of no more than three pages will be included. ONGOING RESEARCH: An outline of all present ongoing research whose base was developed during the MCA proposal, but is not yet complete, will be presented in one-page summaries indicating: A. Objectives B. Present status of the work C.
