I just received, word that leaded gasoline is to be blended in the near future in Venezuela by the Shell people at their San Lorenzo refinery, and by the Jersey people as well, Shis
brings me to wish to complete the arrangements discussed with you by my associate* Dr. Machle, some time ago and referred to in ny letter of December 22* 1932.
, Hr. Lester Roberts, who Is in charge of technical and com roial matters for Ethyl Export Corporation in Couth /erica, will get in touch with you shortly, no doubt, and will keep you acquainted with the progress of developments in the
construction of blending plants and in the arrangement
for commercial activities.
1 am glad indeed that our
connection with you has been established and that we
shall be able to have the supervision of the workmen
carried out in accordance with our general program.
As I indicated to you in ay previous letter, I shall
be glad to hear from you from time to time as to the
progress of affairs in Venezuela, and I shall be glad
to have your prompt confirmation of your willingness
to carry on this work,
.
X have no doubt that certain questions as to the general public health aspect of the use of leaded gasoline in Venezuela will arise. Xf any difficulties occur In this connection, X would appreciate your letting me know about them. As you are now doubtless aware, this problem has been investigated with considerable care, and I believe we are In position to say without any doubt that there are no significant dangers to the community
in connection with the use and distribution of this gasoline* It Is our experience, however, that this question arises with increased vigor whenever the product is introduced into

a new country* I should Imagine that your country will be no exception*
Cordially yours*
