After iay return to Cincinnati, Dr. Kehoe and I went to A'&shinglion and discussed the entire matter of the Denver plarit with Drs. Thompson and Seal. They were very definitely interested in the affair and felt tho t regard less of patent or considerations that might he entailed, it waa time that some recommendations for codes for plants of this type be promulgated. We put them in possession of all of the information that we had and they are now in the process of getting this together to forward to the Public Health and Industrial Hygiene people in Colorado as well as other states. Three large samples bf a little over 2 liters each, collected over a period of some days, contained in the neigh borhood of 2 milligrams per liter, all of which is quite consistent with the symptoms and physical findings in his case, _Of especial interest is the high result This patient was one of the men who^sfflffeen^xhe development of the plant and on the basis of the history that he gave me, ha had no exposure for two weeks preceding my examination. However, the magnitude of his excretion, namely, 2 milligrams per liter, indicates quite clearly that he had recent severe exposure and our physical findings at the time of the examination were consistent with that finding. TPs obtained only one spinal fluid sample This contained 0.004 milligrams of lead per 100 co, and is not elevated above normal limits to near the degree that the urinary and blood findings were.
