Bestwall Wallboard nails have been greatly improved due to extensive re search on the problem of "nail popping". This particular phenomenon some times occurs in areas with extreme weather conditions or with factors such as, vibration, distorted framing, the use of wet lumber, and not securing the board tightly enough to the studs. Research was initiated in order to develop the shortest possible nail with the maximum holding ability. Results produced ... the annular ring nail, which has greater holding power than a cement coated nail of the same length. These high strength nails, which is attributed to the carbon steel content, can be driven into wallboard rapidly and with very little effort. This study also led to the development of an ASTM standard for nails.
Selection of the proper nail for each application is extremely important, particularly for fire-rated constructions. The nails recommended comply with performance standards adopted by the Gypsum Association.
WALLBOARD HAMMERS of three types should be used for proper wallboard application. These being a
plastic head hammer, a rubber mallet and a drywall hammer. A crown head hammer may be used for wallboard application but should not be relied upon. To attain the best results, when nailing wallboard, a drywall hammer must be used. This hammer has a symetrical convex face designed to compress wallboard and form a per fect dimple in the face of the board when the nail is driven. When apply ing Eternawall and/or Tru-grain wallboard, a plastic head hammer or a rubber mallet should be used to prevent damage to decorative finish on the board and to the enameled nail head.

Driver Bit Requirements: Plastic envelope will be stapled to the underside of con tainer top on all orders specifying driver bits.
Bestwall Drywall screws are now available in a variety of sizes for every type of wallboard application. These screws are designed especially for drywall con struction whether it be gypsum to gypsum, gypsum wallboard to metal or gypsum wallboard to wood framing. The special patented bugle head screw used when attaching wallboard, reduces the possibility of damaging the paper and produces a uniform depression for proper and easier spotting. The self tapping quality of the screws effect rapid application when attaching wallboard to metal studs. Bestwall drywall screws arecomposed of a high strength carbon steel and coated with a phosphate plating, this combination ot properties gives maximum trouble-free service. The phosphate overcoat serves as a rust in hibitor. This in turn prevents rust marks from damaging decorative surfaces. For best results these screws should be mechanically driven.

TOOLS USED EOR PROPER WALLBOARD FASTENING
POWER DRIVEN SCREW DRIV ERS are used to drive Bestwall drywall screws (types"S'\"W'i and "G") in the attachment of gypsum wallboard to wood, metal or gyp sum studs. The tools are designed to drive these screws to a preset depth below the wallboard surface where the bit tip is then dis engaged by a clutch mechanism. The bit tip is magnetized and holds the screw in position, ready to be driven.
