At present, we have 18 companies, including all of the major manufacturers of vinyl chloride monomer and polyvinyl chloride committed to financial support of the program. The contractor for this study will be Environmental Health Associates (EHA), of Berkeley, California. A review of the original epidemiology study indicates that some members of the cohort were Allied Chemical employees. When ICI Americas purchased the plant, many of these individuals remained. Presumably, some of these workers have become your employees, since your purchase of the ICI plastics operations. In all probability, EHA will contact you regarding the updating of work histories on these individuals. Your company's participation in this program is welcomed. You need not be a member of the Association to join in this effort. In order to give you some insight into the operations of our Special Programs Division, I am enclosing a copy of our Special Programs Guidelines.
