This letter briefly summarizes the comments provided by Dr. Mundt and Mark Gruenwald, a member of the VCHC. Although we ask that you read and respond to all comments, in particular, please note the following: 1) Inclusion of chemicals other than vinyl chloride - It is critical that the protocol and ultimately the report developed for the Vinyl Chloride Health Committee address only issues related to vinyl chloride monomer (VCM). Please remove references to chemicals other than VMC from the body of the protocol and carry this revision through to the report. The VCHC does not have expertise in analyzing data for other chemicals. 2) Exposure Classification - During the April 18* meeting held at your place, Ken Mundt and Ralph Buncher identified several improvements to the protocol that are not reflected in this revised version. Please have Ralph Buncher review and revise the relevant sections to reflect those recommendations. These sections are identified in the enclosed July 30,1997 letter from Ken Mundt.
