To: From: Subject: Dr. R. A. Kehoe J. Cholak Survey on the use of leaded grinding wheels at The Carborundum Company, Niagra Falls, N.Y. Mr. C. H. Seymour, Safety Director, called about 11 a.m., November 11th, concerning a survey in which particle sizes as well as the concentrations of lead in air resulting from the use of leaded grinding wheels were to be determined. It has been agreed to conduct the investigations on November 26th. It may be necessary to stay over one day (November 27th) but I believe that only one day will be required for the collection of the samples. We have designed and purchased equipment to do two-stage sampling and I expect to prove this equipment out during my visit to this plant. Date: November 11, 1963 \ 0005391 N7320 November 27* 1963 Dr. Kehoe: Dr. Eddy (Carborundum Company) has given me copies of correspondence concerning an article "The Pneumoconioses" which appeared in the August 1963 issue of the A.M.A. Archives of Environmental Health and in v;hich he claims an incorrect statement was made. A reprint of the article is included in the material which I have sent you. The statement to which Dr. Eddy objected is marked on page 15 of the reprint.
