Our interpretation of the State of Minnesota Leglstation on powdered asbestos, is that the state will prohibit the spraying of asbestos for fireproofing and insulation application, and also prohibit the use of asbestos molded products for insulation, l.e. wrap-around pipe insulation. This law should not affeot your oontlnued use of asbestos in the products you produce. As mentioned in my last telephone conversation with you. we would be pleased to oonduet an informal seminar on asbestos, explaining the regulations both OSHA and EPA, and in general explaining the oontlnued safe use of asbestos. Z. office has been active in various oommittee work regarding these laws, he has conducted similar seminars this past year, and is available should your company so desire. Lastly, we have taken dust counts at pour Palatine, 111. plant on two occasions. The initial dust count was taken on Nov. 7, 1972, and a recount Deo. 7. 1972, to double check a previous questionable high level count. The recount indicated the previous sample had either been contaminated or another fibrous material was present In the count. We would like to offer our dust oount services to your Minneapolis plant.
