As mentioned at the meeting, PFOA, its salts and PFOA-related compounds are being considered for designation as persistent organic pollutants (`POPs') under the Stockholm Convention. Currently there is an open invitation to submit, until 9 December 2016, information on socioeconomic considerations specified in Annex F to the Convention for these substances (see document attached). Further information is available on the Convention's website (http://chm.pops.int/).

Thank you for your email. As regards your suggestion to anticipate the meeting, I'm afraid that it is not be possible due to prior compromises of some colleagues.
The meeting is thus schedule to 7 November (Monday) at 16:30 at DG GROW premises at Avenue d`Auderghem 45, 1049-Brussels, BREYDEL BUILDING (Rond Point Schuman area).

Last Thursday we have spotted the EC proposal for annex XVII restriction update as notified to the WTO, ref. enclosed annex. I first wonder whether the enclosed document is the corrected final draft or else, if mistakes may have occurred.
Looking at the annex I point 3, we are glad to observe that the concept of 6-years-derogations needed to enable compliance with standards for protection of workers was apparently well received during the interservice consultation. We appreciate that. That is indeed the point we made since the meeting in March and which we then attempted to further support with evidences gathered in the following weeks.
We were utterly surprised to see that, apparently, such concept is accepted but it is minimized to a fraction of its applications range, namely is referred to textile protecting vs water repellence and workers only.
Most of the evidences we received from companies do refer to PFOAneeds related to textiles for the protection of individuals (including but not limited to workers) against more critical threads, such us chemicals, oil, military defence etc.
In conclusion, if the enclosed text is the correct results of the internal consultation, we do not understand how can the standard-compliance concept be recognized but excluded for most of the relevant applications and people categories.
