The May 23 article in Chemical WeejT'referred"to Crude Orthochlorophenol; it did not refer to distilled parachloro phenol. On parachlorophenol, our data shows no TCDD at a detection rimit of 10 parts per billion. This work was done over a year ago. However, because of the sudden increase of inquiries on dioxin by the press and by our customers, Monsanto has recently decided once again to analyze all of our chlorophenols for TCDD, using the most current methods and equip ment available.
