The UST system has been out of use since approximately 2012. The Environmental Protection Agency's Facility records indicate the Facility has two, jacketed steel underground storage tanks (USTs) that were installed in January 1999. Tank 1 has an 8,000-gallon capacity and Tank 2 has a 12,000-gallon capacity. Piping is safe suction, single-walled fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP). Inspection Narrative On July 23, 2025, the EPA UST program personnel conducted an inspection at Little Bighorn Camp in Crow Agency, Montana. The EPA last inspected the Facility on October 14, 2022, and they selected it for routine re-inspection. Ms. Grabowski, the EPA inspector, did not attempt to contact a Facility representative, as the listed property owner is deceased. A responsible party (RP) search conducted by EPA in January 2025 concluded that there are no viable owners/operators for the USTs and the Facility is abandoned. The EPA inspection team arrived at the Facility at 2:10 p.m. MDT and conducted a physical inspection of the UST system. Photographs of UST system components taken during the inspection are in Attachment A, and the inspection checklist is Attachment B. 2020044-Little Bighorn Camp Page 1 of 2 7/23/2025 UST Inspection Physical Observations The EPA inspector viewed the spill buckets/fill pipes, ATG risers, vents, and former dispensers. Fill pipes were locked and both spill buckets contained debris. One of the tank vents was significantly damaged. There was no recent paperwork or test records for the USTs.
