Since that time I have had the opportunity to dis cuss the matter with the chief metallurgist, the director of personnel relations, and the head of the medical bureau of the principal steel company which is promoting this steel, and they have given me a number of valuable facts concerning their proc ess and the investigations which have led up to it. The medical man was working on the basis that the "threshold value", which I take to mean the amount of lead in an atmosphere which can be safely endured by normal persons without danger of poisoning, is 0.00001 grain per cubic foot.
