Burnett Executive Director March 23, 1993 TO: Electrical Materials Council Pipe Resource Organization Vinyl Packaging Council RE: Vinvl Institute Restructuring On March 12th, the Executive Board of the Vinyl Institute approved a task force recommendation to eliminate the pro-active committees effective the end of May. This action was taken to allow the organization representing your industry to focus its resources on the key issues facing our business - particularly the environmental threats posed by groups such a Greenpeace. It is recognized by the Board and VI staff that your activities over the years to enhance the market potential for PVC have been very successful and we commend you for the hard work expended on behalf of the vinyl industry. To celebrate these achievements, we particularly invite you to attend this year's Annual Meeting at the Omni in Charleston, South Carolina (within the limits of your company policy) and be recognized for your contributions. We will take this opportunity to meet one more time as a committee to wrap-up current projects and identify those activities which should be continued by a standing committee or a new Issues Management Committee (IMC) which is being organized. This latter group will operate with an "ad hoc" task force structure which hopefully will allow many of you a continued involvement in Vinyl Institute programs.
