I think this gives us enough information to begin planning our own organization's participation in the event. Please let Matt know who in your company should receive an invitation to attend. And let me know if you have any questions. The launch under discussion is to celebrate the laboratory's construction, start-up and operation, making it an event marking the collaboration between Fudan and Colorado. The companies' role is a supporting one--as a funder rather than a collaborator. The dates being considered are December 8, 9 or 10 and the event would be in Shanghai. Other details--size, type of event (reception or dinner or some of each)--are still being worked out. However, it looks like the most senior officials involved are likely to be Vice Mayor Yan Xiaodo, a Vice President from Fudan (or perhaps the President), and the U.S. Consul General. Patrick Beatty has indicated he can attend on those dates, representing the Consortium. Other company respresentation is up to each consortium member to decide.
