My dear Hr.Sanford: At the meeting of the axedutive committee of the National safety Council a few weeks ago i t was suggested th*t there mi&xt be prepsred for publication in the National Safety News a brief statement of measures which can be relied upon to protect the worker from dust hazards and abrasive pressure blasting and I was asked to prepare a preliminary draft of such a statement. I enclose my attempt herewith. I t was suggested that th is preliminary statement should be submitted to half a dozen members of the executive committ- e who have special experience in this field to ask for their criticism I hope very much therefore that you w ill be willing to look over the enclosed and le t me have it back with suggestions as to additions, eliminations or changes at your early convenience. I t aearned to us <al\ ert" the executive committee meeting that some statement of this general type would be of substantial value and that its publication would indicate that the Council was ready to do its part to assist its members who are dealing with the problem in question.
