WILSON, -PROJECT ENGINEER, PROJECT ENGINEERING, DEER PARK MANUFACTURING COMPLEX SUBJECT: ASBESTOS FLOOR TILE REMOVAL FROM SOUTH ADMINISTRATION BUILDING The following requirements must be adhered to during theupcoming project to remove floor tiles from the hallways in the South Administration Building to be conducted by Brown & Root: 1) All aspects of Safety Order S-125, Asbestos, must be -met - to the extent feasible.' "2) A negative pressure enclosure will.be constructed to prevent the release of asbestos fibers outside the work area. It will include a false roof. Minimum pressure that must be maintained is 0.02 inches water. 3) Exhaust air from the enclosure will pass through HEPA filters and flex hose will be attached to the blower to route the exhaust air outside the building. 4) Personnel air monitoring within the negative pressure enclosure will be conducted by Brown & Root. 5) Monitoring outside the negative pressure enclosure and clearance sampling within the enclosure will be conducted by an independent environmental service company (A&B Environmental Services, 457-6608) with on site analytical capability. Acceptable clearance is defined as <0.01 fiber/cc. Brown & Root will handle these arrangements. 6) Change/Shower facilities will be located immediately outside the South Administration Building with access to those areas restricted to the asbestos removal workers. 7) Adequate means of egress from the building for building occupants and access to the laboratory areas by the Sample Carriers must be maintained at all times.
