Knapp SUBJECT: VCM-MCA Task Force Attached herewith Is a copy of request for additional funding of toxicological research on vinyl chloride monomer. The work would be conducted by the Toxicology Section of Dow Chemical Biology Research, who have already done some research on the metabolism of vinyl chloride monomer and have submitted a report (not attached) to the Task Force. The cost of their work is estimated at $80,000 and Allied share would be of the order of $4,000, while costs of the overall project have risen the urgency for solution is greater and our 5# of the cost is comparably small.
