Hammann - 0-22 SHAC has been requested to monitor the recommendations from the report on the Overspeed of 899.09P1DT-4 Turbine Rotor. Following are the responsibilities of Maintenance Engineering: 1. Maintenance Engineering to survey the market and recommend the best field electronic tachometer for use in the plant overspeed program. Each maintenance zone would have several of these instru ments possibly in the area or at the zone office. 2. Maintenance Engineering should publish a "Tech Brief" on turbines explaining in simple terms critical speeds, minimum governor control, maximum governor control, trip mechanism, etc. This information will be used in operator and machinist training. 3. Different wording is used on the MMTS overspeed status trip report and the data kept by operations. Change wording to clearly indicate maximum governor controlled speed of the turbine and trip speed.
