{... we went to Congress, where a group of Democratic lawmakers and their environmentalist allies continued to push back against the notion that regulatory rollbacks from the Trump administration will permanently end climate mitigation efforts in the United States.
{Speaking of the U.N. climate talks, our daily news roundup looked at reports that {advocates were none too happy with the Trump administration's pro-fossil side event {at the United Nations climate talks, though it seems that the political officials' message {is not getting to career U.S. diplomats.
{In regulation news, the Natural Resources Defense Council is urging EPA {Administrator Scott Pruitt to schedule more than one public hearing on his proposal to {repeal the Obama-era Clean Power Plan rule to cut utility sector greenhouse gas emissions.
{In court, the free-market group Competitive Enterprise Institute is filing a Freedom of {Information Act suit to compel the State Department to produce documents related to the Paris climate agreement that the group hopes will bolster its claim that the {agreement is an international treaty requiring Senate ratification.
{And in infrastructure news, environmentalists and conservation groups are asking the {Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to withdraw its recent approvals of two Mid Atlantic natural gas pipelines, seeking more robust climate change analysis and a detailed determination of need for both projects.
