202 Straight with DEFIANCE at Del Monte 'T'O Fred C. Vertrees of Denver weiit the honor of turning in the longest run at the first Del Monte Hotel Handicap Shoot, held February 16th to 20th, at Del Monte, California. Mr. Vertrees broke 202 targets straight, using U. S. Defiance shells. In addition to making this fine run, Mr. Vertrees captured the Class C Championship and was high man on all targets with 757 x 800--an average of 94,62S%. Two other shooters of U. S. shells also distinguished themselves at the Del Monte Shoot. F. C. Bedeson of Merced, California, won the Del Monte Handicap event with a score of 97 x 100 from the 21-yard line, while Lou Reed of Los Angeles, in the Dei Monte Hundred at 16 yards, broke 100 straight to tie for first; then 50 straight in the shoot-off, winding up with 97 x 100. These scores are proof positive of the dependability of U. S. trapshells--the-old reliable Climax or the newer Defiance. Both are good shells--mighty good shells.
