SCAFFOLDING
A. Patented--Metal (Sectional)
1. Make provision for uniform, level and compacted footing on earth bottom.
2. Use no less than 6' x 6" foot plates--do not use wedges or miscellaneous scrap of any kind for underpinning.
3. Install toeboards on deck levels.
4. Provide handrails at 42' above deck.
5. Tie into structure with heavy form wire every other lift and 30 lineal feet.
6. Brace large areas--crisscross from extreme cor ners.
i) B. Patented--Metal ("Tube and Clamp") 1. Make provision for uniform, level and compacted footing on earth bottom.
2. Use no less than 6' x 6' foot plates--do not use wedges or miscellaneous scrap of any kind for underpinning.
3. Install toeboards on deck levels.
4. Provide handrails at 42' above deck.
5. Tie into structure with heavy form wire every 12 vertical and 30 lineal feet.
6. Brace large areas--crisscross from extreme cor ners.
C. Steel Beam (Outrigger--Suspended)
1. Secure inside ends of outriggers to concrete or steel with bolts and plates (not cable, reinforcing rods and wedges).
2. Inspect ratchets and dogs and cables on each winch spool.
3. Lap decking l' and provide handrails and wire. (See Item 311-3.)

D. Swinging Stages, Floats, Chicken Walks, Knee Brace and Cantilever Types
Each and every such device as in (D) above must have the approval for use by the Superintendent of the craft involved for propriety to the work, and for design and strength.
