Bureau of Hines made an Inspection of our mining and milling facility here at Libby. A report on this Inspection was made by Jack S. Petty, which was received here September 20, 1971* As a result of the Inspection, we received two written notices mentioned in the report. We were also verbally notified by Jack Petty, when we reviewed his inspection, of two other areas that had to be rectified or he would cite us on his next inspection. The status of the four notices (2 written, 2 verbal) are as follows: Written Notices: 1. Report #55-12"30; The extraneous electrical wiring in the minemill conveyor belt tunnel has been removed. This hazard was abated as requested by October I, 1970 report. 2. Report i?55.1A-26? The cable (wire rope) on the reagent-hoisting hoist which was frayed has been replaced. This condition was also corrected within the alloted abatement period. Verbal Notices: 3. Conveyor belt start~up warning devices (horns), prior inspection #55"9"6: This notice had not been fully complied with. The A8" belt under the transfer point wobbler feeder had not been fitted with such a warning device. We now have the warning device In stalled and working. This notice is now fully completed. A. Dust hazard created by the secondary drill: Jack Petty advised us that, while at the time of his inspection we were not using the secondary drill, he would cite us for not having proper dust abatement equipment on the secondary drill If he found it running upon his next visit. He said he would ask us to shut it down at that time. We have submitted an AS0 for $A300 to cover the purchase of a new head equipped with a water system to keep the dust within acceptable limits.
