I was somewhat concerned regarding the possibility of toxic exposure of iir to Aviation Petrol. Ha is the Mechanic at oi;r office at the Airport and as such is frequently working on the Pumping Mechanisms in the tank trucks and in addition to this exposure to Aviation Petrol, he was in the habit of using this Petrol as a cleansing agent for small parts, etc. It is estimated prior to correction of the situation, this manfs hands were in contact with the Aviation Petrol, 5^ - 15%> of his working time. Blood smears taken and examined locally in the laboratory of Dr. 0. C. Trainer, showed some stippling. Urinary lead determination done at Esso Laboratories showed a border line high (0.107 mg. Pb/Liter) lead content. This situation was discussed with you' at the time of your visit to Winnipeg about September, 1952, and at thsrt^rime, you offered to have the above estimations performed on^HI and suggested that you send con tainers for similar estimations to be done on our TEL exposed employees at the Winnipeg Refinery. Thesesamples submitted on Messrs and were therefore the nature^of^'outine surveillance samples.
