Dear Dr. EdelmanJ
We have received from Dr. Xehoe In Cincinnati, a letter describing in considerable detail the rosults of His conversation with you on June 10th*
'We are writing you at Dr* Kehoe's eugqsstion to inform you that it will be possible for us to itomi ah you Firn sufficient Tet raethyl Dead in cans containing approximately one it ion each, to manu facture a batch of approximately 450 lbs* of the ersenious compound.
:: Our Mamifac taring Department idols rather strongly that
Tetraethyl Lead shipped for purposes such as these should be colored
with an oil soluble dye in sufficient quantity
give the liquid a
characteristic saada. We are not entirely sure whether the addition of
a small quantity ox' dye would in any way interi ere with the chemical
reactions which you contemplate. If it r-ouic not, wo would greatly
appreciate your permission to add the color ooi'ora chipping*
In the interest of safety xic shipping convenience, we would also appreciate your ordering Totraethyl Lead in units of 12 cans this permitting us to use our standard cos. It is suggested that every effort be made to preserve the original chipping container for use in returning empty cans, and that such empty cans be returned in units of 12 as rapidly as they become available.
Do not hesitate to call upon us for any further assistance which we can give.
Very truly yours,
0. B. LEWIS
