Ethanolamines/Glycol Ethers Tier 3 Safework/Operating Procedure Section Number: Issue Number: Original Date: Revision Date: Title: References: 1709 1.3 11-11-91 Author: Micheal Viator 12-11-95 Sundyne Field Switch Test Glossary Of Equipment Identification (Text #114) 1709 Sundyne Field Switch Test 1.0 Objective: 1.1 To ensure main switch gear driver will not start in preparation for pump maintenance. 2.0 Responsibility: 2.1 It is the responsibility of the operations supervisor and the senior operations specialist to ensure the safe and efficient completion of this procedure. 2.2 It is the responsibility of the senior operations specialist and the operations specialist to ensure that this procedure is fully complied with. 3.0 Special Notations: 3.1 When testing the field switch on a sundyne pump, remember you have to have the auxiliary oil pump on and the oil pressure has to be 15 pounds or more before the main driver will start. If the auxiliary oil pump is not running and the oil pressure is not 15 pounds or more the main driver will not come on even if the motor control center switch for the main driver is on. 4.0 Pr cedure: 4.1 Put the motor control center (mcc) switch for the main driver in the off position. 4.2 Turn on the auxiliary oil pump in the field and let the oil pressure get up to 15 pounds. 4.3 Try to start the main driver with the field switch.
