Dear Secretary Duffy,
Thank you for your continued leadership in ensuring our nation's workers, families, consumers, and businesses can rely on a strong infrastructure network throughout the United States.
I am writing to you in support of the Redevelopment Authority of Bucks County's application to the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant program for the purpose of revitalizing the Bristol Port Terminal. This port is an invaluable infrastructure asset to the region, currently serving as a receiving port for necessary raw materials used in the construction industry in Pennsylvania and throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
According to information provided to my office, the total project cost is $64,800,000 and a partner in the plan, Riverside Construction Materials (RCM), has obligated $39,800,00 as a private investment equating to 61% of the total project cost. Their application requests $25,000,000 in grant funding.
This facility is essential in the distribution of road salt to the city of Philadelphia, the New Jersey, and Pennsylvania Turnpike Authorities and to over 30 governmental agencies. The redevelopment of this port is a vital undertaking that directly supports President Trump and his Administration's mission to Make American Infrastructure Great Again. As a Member of Congress who represents a district in Southeastern Pennsylvania, I can personally attest to the importance of this proposal and the urgent need to revitalize this port terminal.
I am requesting the Department of Transportation's full and fair consideration on behalf of the Redevelopment Authority of Bucks County and their application to the BUILD grant program. Please do not hesitate to reach out to my office at 215-579-8102 if my office can be of any further assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
t/14p-dvk
