BARB Early this year, the management of the Technical Diversification Department was streamlined to allow more focus and progress on achieving our growth objectives. Dr. Joseph Wetherington was named to the position of Assistant General Manager, TDD, reporting to me, with primary responsibility for Identification of new technical/commercial opportunities that have venture potential. Reporting to Joe are Mr. Joseph Santangelo, Director of Business Development; Dr. Steven Weiner, Director of Contract Research; Dr. Chung Yeh, Manager of Technology Evaluation; and the new position of Director of Research and Development. The position of Director of Technology Acquisition, which Is currently vacant, also reports to Joe. At the same time, Mr. Richard Meier was named Director-Venture Development, reporting to me. Mr. Meier's primary responsibilities are the formulation of strategic and Implementation plans, and the subsequent identification, selection, and negotiation of venture entry opportunities. Reporting to Dick are Ted Foster, Stephanie Olexa and A1 Stubbmann as Venture Development Managers, and Raman Malhotra as Manager of Market Evaluation. Dick Is also responsible for the coordination of our West Coast-based electronics program directed by Ralph Richardson and our TDD Europe office directed by Roger Tharby. The Venture Managers will continue to report to me. My primary responsibility will be to meet our venture growth and profitability objectives, and to achieve appropriate balance In the management of our diversification process. AP00060662
