I have no more travel planned until field work in late June into July, so after this week I am available anytime for a combo briefing.

Tim indicated that he wanted to put together a meeting with the ASLM hallway on the memo (regarding which he said the only change he saw from the earlier draft was including Dave's corrections on what constitutes data).
I'm not quite sure where that leaves us in terms of the combo but will work with Bill Lukas to get clarity on that (and see if we can get the final memo).

Three comments:
1. We already have completed significant U/Th geochronology work, and have additional U/Th geochronology and low temperature thermochronometry work in progress on samples collected last year.
2. The DGGS costs make our internal work look like a real bargain!
3. I was cc'ed yesterday on email response from the Kavik Camp owner to DGGS regarding a DGGS request to book lodging, so it would appear that DGGS is moving forward with or without us.
I suggest we wait to see what happens with budget late this week and then schedule a conference call with DGGS for next week (even though I'm in Houston next week).

Steve,
Thanks for meeting with Geoff and me today. Per our conversation please find attached a summary of possible work in which we could possibly involve DGGS. As we discussed, I'd appreciate you sending us your ideas of potential collaboration as well.
Safe travels and we'll see you on Monday; happy to discuss further then.

Thanks Walter,
We are very thankful that the USGS received a robust budget, as I am sure you are too. I understand that the timeframe for the ANWR assessment may be moving, and that the focus for the near term may be shifting. We are happy to discuss the ramifications, and potential scopes of work. FYI Dave and I will be in Anchorage this week, but Thursday may be possible. Next week looks pretty open for me.
Skiing is great at the moment, 32" of snow in the garden yesterday. But now we await spring, eagerly!

Steve,
Thank you for your feedback ojbJSSJitial work that could be carried out by DGGS. As you now know, we have a budget that has been approved by Congress and signed by the President. I propose we schedule another call to discuss how best to move forward and what a potential scope of work might look like. Dave Houseknecht is in Houston this week so we'll scope out what schedules look like for later in the week. I'll be in Denver most of next week but able to take part in a call if need be. We'll keep you posted once we figure out what things look like on our end.

Many thanks...
