FOREWORD The third conference of the American Brake Shoe Company's industrial nurses was held at Moraine-on-the-Lake, Highland Park, Illinois on September 15-16, 1953. As in the past, the value of such gatherings was amply demonstrated. Company nurses from widely scattered locations were afforded the opportunity of meeting each other and becoming acquainted with over-all Company policies in a manner which would not have been possible otherwise. New ideas were introduced in this session as a result of previous experience and still more innovations were disclosed for use in future conferences. A unanimous expression of opinion was that more time was needed to cover adequately all the things that ' come up for discussion in a meeting of this sort. While only the highlights of the conference are reprod uced in the present brochure, it is hoped that it will serve a useful purpose in assisting our industrial nurses in the per formance of their daily tasks, as well as recalling a pleasant and fruitful interlude.
