Dear Administrator Pruitt:
a ' - L- a
.
I am very pleased to invite you to be the speaker at the American Chemistry Council's (ACC) Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, November 10, 2017 between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm at The Sanctuary in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. As Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, your insights will be of great interest to our Board members.
As you may be aware, the business of chemistry is a $768 billion enterprise that employs 811,000 people nationwide in good-paying American jobs. As the second largest producer, the industry provides over 15% of the world's chemicals and directly touches more than 96% of all manufactured goods. ACC represents 150 leading companies in the business of chemistry from large corporations such as Dow and ExxonMobil Chemical Company to numerous smaller companies providing critical products and materials to every aspect of the U.S. economy.
Ideally, you would speak on your 2017 priorities for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and any other topics you believe will be\)f interest to our members. We've reserved 15 to 20 minutes for you to speak, and 10 minutes for questions and answers.
The Council's Board of Directors includes 52 CEOs and other top executives from our membership. Other member company staff, including Washington representatives, will also attend. We expect approximately 80 persons in total.
Please contact me at (202) 249-6200 or Bryan_Zumwalt@americanchemistry.com if you have any questions. Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Bryan Zumwalt
