Referring to your latter of October 4th 1921, request
ing that the privilege of using the Anaconda brand in connection
with the sale of Anaoonda 77hlte lead be granted you under the
tanas of the contrast between this Company and The Glidden Com
pany.
The Glidden Company has requested that such privilege
be extended to you. We understand that your request Is based
upon that prorlalon of Paragraph 4 of the contract between this
Company and The Glidden company, executed on the 23rd day of
September, 1921, Aioh reads as follows:
"in order that any such subsidiary may beoome entitled to
any auoh Anaoonda brand, Glidden must first in writing request that auoh privilege be granted to auoh subsidiary and the subsidiary must likewise in writing request that auoh privilege be granted, and agree that the same shall be held and enjoyed only in aooordanoe with the terms and con ditions of this agreement and will be subject to termination upea the termination of this agreement or the termination for V pause ef Glidden'a right to make use, in aooordanoe with the term ef this agreement, of an Anaoonda brand, and upon as express agreement that the right of auoh subsidiary to make use ef suoh a brand shall be discontinued at any time upon a written notloe from Glidden to the subsidiary and to Anaoonda requiring that the use be discontinued."

ed upon the terms set out In the foregoing exoerpt from our oontrac
