As explained in greater detail in the attached letter, Westlake is seeking a Presidential Exemption under the New Source Performance Standards for the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturing Industry and National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturing Industry and Group I & II Polymers and Resins. See 89 FR 42932; May 16, 2024 (HON rule). As Westlake's evaluation of the requirements under the HON rule progresses and we continue to develop our compliance plans, Westlake may have additional detail or more concrete information related to the technical challenges, time required and costs for coming into compliance with the HON rule.
