DeBernardi Date January 28, 1982 subject Conoco Chemicals/DuPont Chemicals Consolidation The basis of the consolidation announcement made by DuPont on January 25 is presently aimed at allowing a number of studies to proceed which are aimed at determining the most effective and efficient way to structure and manage the Chemical's area of the merged company's business. At present the con solidation will not alter or effect Conoco Chemicals Co. employees or programs in any way. We continue to be known as Conoco Chemicals Co. a division of Conoco Inc. as in the past. The studies that will result from the consolidation action will be participated in by Conoco Chemical's representatives along with DuPont personnel. Although I am confident that a great deal of speculation and rumor will be forthcoming as a result of the consolidation action, I would urge each of you to disregard all of it. As factual information becomes available to me it will be communicated to our plant employee's as has been the case in the past. At the present time the facts are: 1) R. W. Gerwig , President - Chemicals Operations will report to E. B. Yelton, Vice-President DuPont Petrochemicals. 2) Conoco Chemical's Company is to continue its present operation and business activities as planned and without change.
