As you have probably heard, Monsanto is engaged in a voluntary

program to limit sales of products containing polychlorinated
biphenyls to uses as a dielectric in manufacture of transformers
and capacitors from which escape of PCB's to the environment can
be prevented by our customers.
This action has been taken because of Monsanto1s concern about
certain studies which indicate PCB's may be accumulating in the
environment, and in some Instances, have beS'n found in food or
in the food chain. As a purchaser of PCB-contalnlng pro. ots,
we feel certain you are aware of the interest and concern being demonstrated around the world by scientists about this problem.
Nevertheless, we call to your special attention the attached
article on PCB's by Carl 0. Gustafson of the United States Fedcra_

2. You acknowledge that you have been advised by us of
