Although it is desirable to have lead in blood at a zero level, we recognize the fact that working in a lead industry, this objective is impossible. We would therefore appreciate your feelings as to what you would, consider the "normal" limit of lead in blood in industry, handling lead products. We would also like to know the upper lead limit so that when this limit is obtained, employees can be removed from their present hazard. There certainly is a standard procedure followed by industries in lead in handling employees where these problems may arise, and we would appreciate as much information along this line as possible. At tin Price Battery Corporation, there are certain departments where this lead hazard exists and other departments that are comparatively lead free. When upper lead limits are obtained, employees can be shifted from a hazardous area into a relatively non-hazardous area. We would appreciate your advices as to the period of time you feel would be beneficial in shifting an employee from a hazardous location to a non-hazardous location.
