UC 140.t INTERNAL. CORRESPONDENCE MINING AND METALS DIVISION Mr. W. C. Thurber To (Homo) Mining and Metals Division New York, NY location 0ah Originating Dopi. P. 0. BOX 579, NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK 14302 October 4, 1974 "Calidria" Asbestos - Marketing RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT Copy to Although not a new problem, it is my firm opinion that we must immediately take steps to eliminate leakage of asbestos from our bag spouts. Up to a cup of asbestos is left in the spout of open fiber products such as SG-210; and some products, such as Crushed Super Visbestos, continue to leak during handling and transportation because the spout does not flatten sufficiently. This problem should be resolved by engineering/plant/bag supplier personnel, so I am taking this opportunity to back out of any responsibilities along this line. On request we can provide specific help or suggestions and we should be kept informed of any changes which could affect marketing efforts. ^John L. Myers /ds UCC 013154 ftfrcE7veo mDCT7
