I have before me the residue data for the December, 1971; March, 1972; and June, 1972 trips to Choocoloceo Create, the Coosa River, and respective tributaries. In comparing these sets of data in a very general way, I am encouraged by some significant drops in residue levels for the main stream of the Choocoloceo Creek Study Area. However, I was quite surprised to see some significant increases In levels for the Stemley Bridge and Clear Crsek sites. If the latter increases are indeed real, perhaps some of the residue materials have been flushed out of Chocco- locco Creek into the Coosa River. We actually know nothing with regard to the physical transport of these materials. At any rate, I do not want to go out on a limb until I have seen the data for the September, 1972, survey which till be especially important since this will be the first lot of fishes that we expect be relatively iA free of P.C.B. s.
